501 - Pro Guide School

Train to lead organized/commercial trips into the backcountry, and back out

Conducting trips as a professional guide starts long before the actual trip. A professional lead guide must be fluent in route planning, managing timing, acquiring proper permits and insurance, setting menus and prerequisites, mastering interpersonal situations, handling mechanical breakdowns and medical emergencies, managing weather events, and instilling land use ethics, all while creating a safe and engaging event for your clients. Having conducted trips for decades throughout the deserts and mountains of the Southwest, Barlow Adventures breaks this down into a step-by-step process you can learn to provide an outstanding experience while guiding your clients through the backcountry.
