Day One: Meet in Georgetown early in the morning for an easy 38 miles to the famous Loon Lake trailhead. Air down, orientation, and on to Gatekeeper, Walker Rock, Soup Bowl and Little Sluice—a long, tough day of 4-wheeling, rewarded by dinner at Buck Island Lake, and camping under starlit skies.

Day Two: After a hearty breakfast, it’s back on the trail for a day of incomparable 4WD challenges along Buck Island Lake, Big Sluice and Rubicon Valley. We try to arrive early enough to allow time for hiking, swimming and exploring of the area around Rubicon Springs.

Day Three: It’s breakfast and an early start for our last day on the trail. Ascend the infamous Cadillac Hill, and then celebrate with a last view of the Rubicon Valley from Observation Point. Finish driving through the beautiful pine forests into Tahoe Valley, where we air-up and check equipment before a leisurely drive back via highway to Georgetown.
